The garden has a view of the mysterious Pico de Ferreira (760m). Aratinga Inn is also home for many small native animals such as squirrels, small monkeys, butterflies, lizards, hummingbirds and colourful parrots.
The chalets and suites are your own private retreat on Ilha Grande. Built in an eco-friendly rustic style, they were designed to be in harmony with the vibrancy of the surrounding nature.

Hiking Ilha Grande
The Island has many trails taking you to incredible places. From the short walk around the historic Abraão circuit, to longer hikes to the spectacular beaches of Lopes Mendes and Dois Rios. Hiking to the top of the Pico do Papagaio for magnificent 360 º views is the Ilha Grande has it all.

There is a calendar of different attractions throughout the year. Highlights are the colourful Carnival parades and festivities, the religious festivals of Easter, the amazing annual Music Festival , the Festival of Gastronomy and other National holidays.
Explore the village of Abraão
Abraão is a charming village with many excellent restaurants, tour agencies, beachwear stores, mini supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacy and shops which sell all manner of useful things.
The colonial architecture of the Casa da Cultura and the church in the village square are of special note.
Activities
There are over 100 beaches, as well as waterfalls, rivers, trails, historical buildings, and a rich flora and fauna. The island is surrounded by the Atlantic Rain Forest, mangroves and sandbanks. A trip to Ilha Grande provides an incredible nature experience with spectacular land and seascapes.
Bird Watching
Through the lens of their cameras and binoculars, nature lovers and bird watchers will discover native and rare species of the Atlantic Forest.
Birds catch our attention with the beauty of their plumage and songs, but in addition to delighting our eyes and ears, birds have a very important role in balancing the environment.
